Everything you need to know about ARCO 2024

The 43rd edition of the ARCOmadrid Fair will take place from March 6 to March 10, 2024, at the IFEMA MADRID exhibition center. This unique project aims to bridge the gap between the past and the future through galleries and their essential connections with artists and collectors. In this edition, the spotlight is on the Caribbean, emphasizing research on galleries and artists linked to this region.

ARCOmadrid will once again bring together prominent names in the international gallery scene. The 2024 edition, with the Caribbean as a central theme, explores galleries and artists associated with this region in an expanded vision that goes beyond geographical boundaries. Under this premise, the section, maintaining an active connection with Latin America, will feature the participation of around twenty galleries selected by Sara Hermann and Carla Acevedo-Yates.

A total of 207 galleries from 36 countries will transform Madrid into the international capital of contemporary art. The General Program includes 172 galleries, complemented by curated sections such as “The Shore, the Tide, the Current: an Oceanic Caribbean” with 19 galleries, “Opening” with 16, and “Never the Same. Latin American Art” with 12 galleries.

With the goal of discovering new talents, the event maintains its usual sections, with a General Program whose Organizing Committee will be responsible for selecting the galleries and artistic content present in this edition. The Organizing Committee of ARCOmadrid 2024 includes professionals such as José Aloy, Elba Benítez, Eduardo Brandão, Vera Cortês, Henrique Faria, Pedro Maisterra, Alex Mor, Iñigo Navarro, Sten Nordenhake, Silvia Ortiz, and Rosa Santos.

Among the international galleries in the General Program, notable additions include Gregor Podnar, Max Hetzler, Vera Munro, Air de Paris, Fortes D’aloia & Gabriel, Lévy Gorvy Dayan, and León Tovar. Regular participants also feature galleries like Thaddaeus Ropac, Mai 36, Jocelyn Wolff, Chantal Crousel, Peter Kilchman, Krinzinger, Nächst St. Stephan Rosemarie Schwarzwälder, Giorgio Persano, Lelong, Meyer Riegger, Perrotin, Poggi, Neugerriemschneider, Carlier I Gebauer, Thomas Schulte, and Dvir Gallery.

Additionally, other curated sections such as “Opening” will explore the international scene of young galleries, and “Never the Same. Latin American Art,” curated by Manuela Moscoso and José Esparza Chong Cuy, will continue investigating the diversity of forms, practices, and artistic sensibilities from Latin America.

Finally, the ArtsLibris section will continue to promote collecting, serving as a reference space for artist publications, self-publishing, photobooks, and contemporary thought.
