When is Pride 2024?
Madrid Pride 2024, also known as MADO’24, will take place from Friday 28 June to Sunday 7 July 2024. The event will culminate with the LGBTIQ+ Pride Statewide Demonstration, a highlight event that brings together people of different backgrounds and orientations to celebrate diversity and promote the visibility of the LGBTIQ+ community.
Evolution of the event since 1978
The history of Gay Pride Madrid dates back to 1978, when a group of LGBT+ activists organised the first annual celebration to commemorate the 1969 Stonewall riots in New York. Since then, the event has evolved enormously, becoming one of the most significant events for the LGBT+ community in Spain and worldwide.

Friday 28 June: Chueca’s Pride.

Sunday 30 June: Feathers and Paws
A Pride celebration in the Plaza de Pedro Zerolo, providing an opportunity for pets to be part of the party too. The event will include activities such as a photocall, a solidarity market and a parade of adopted pets.
Wednesday 03 July: Pride Proclamation
This event officially kicks off the celebration of diversity and equality, with an inspiring and moving speech about the importance of diversity and equality, followed by performances by artists and musicians.
03 June to 07 July: Musical Performances
Various stages will host musical performances full of energy and diversity during Madrid Gay Pride.
Thursday 04 July: Heel Race
A fun competition that challenges the skills and style of participants as they run in heels.
Thursday 04 July: Madrid Summit 2024
An international conference on human rights, bringing together LGBT community leaders and human rights advocates to discuss important issues such as equality, inclusion and anti-discrimination.
Friday 05 July: 17th Edition Mr. Gay Pride Spain
An opportunity to meet the most outstanding man in a contest that celebrates style, personality and commitment.
Saturday 06 July 19h00: Statewide Parade
An explosion of colour, rhythm and fun, where associations and floats celebrate love and pride in being who you are.
Sunday 07 July: MADO’24 Closing Ceremony Plaza de España
The closing event will be dedicated to ‘Latino Pride’, providing a platform for Latino LGTBIQ+ artists who are icons for the community.
