SmartRental will make it possible to finance neurorehabilitation sessions

HOW USED OIL CAN PROMOTE NEUROREHABILITATION IN IBIZA AND FORMENTERA

It is the first company to sign this agreement between the ONGD Rastro Solidario and the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Ibiza and Formentera.

SmartRental Group is the first company to join a new solidarity collaboration agreement that will finance neurorehabilitation sessions for people with neurodegenerative diseases, spinal cord injuries and acquired brain damage in Ibiza and Formentera. They will do it through their used cooking oil, thanks to the Solidarity Oil initiative.

The manager of SmartRental Group, Juan Carlos Escoda; the manager of the Multiple Sclerosis Association of Ibiza and Formentera (AEMIF), Ismael Vargas, and the vice-president of Rastro Solidario, Juan Francisco Paredes, signed yesterday afternoon this new agreement with which SmartRental Group’s used cooking oil will be converted into donations for social purposes.

Thanks to the fact that the used oil is treated for the manufacture of Biodiesel, an economic return is achieved which, from now on, will be used to finance sessions of neurophysiotherapy, neurologopedia, occupational neurotherapy, neuropsychology and psychology, among others, aimed at all those people of Ibiza and Formentera with neurodegenerative diseases (Multiple Sclerosis, ALS, Parkinson’s, Huntington’s Corea… ), Acquired Brain Injury (after-effects of a stroke, brain tumor, traumatic brain injury …) and spinal cord injuries. Another part of this income will also be used to finance the Aprende Sin Barreras academy, an online academy for young people with special educational needs.

For AEMIF’s manager, Ismael Vargas, “although we consider that the service we offer to the population should be a right and, therefore, should be fully financed by the public administration, whether we like it or not, AEMIF is still here 25 years later thanks to the solidary collaboration of companies such as SmartRental. We are thrilled with this new agreement and we can only thank SmartRental Group for joining us and Rastro Solidario for making it possible”.

This is also great news for Rastro Solidario, since, as stated by its vice-president, Juan Francisco Paredes, “thanks to this agreement reached with AEMIF and SmartRental Group, AceiteSolidario fulfills its mission of providing financing tools to NGOs, achieving a double positive impact: environmental and social.”

Aceite Solidario, an initiative of Rastro Solidario.

This agreement is thanks to the Solidarity Oil initiative, promoted by the Non-Governmental Organization for Development (NGDO) Rastro Solidario, which aims to provide other NGOs with the resources they need to carry out their social programs. Aceite Solidario has the collaboration of Remittel, an integral biowaste manager.
