Under the slogan Reset, the Madrid Open 2023 has a revamped image this year after becoming a two-week ATP Masters 1000 tournament. Mutua Madid Open 2023 Dates

This edition of the Madrid Open will feature a total of 12 days of competition after launching a new format with more players and matches.

The Mutua Madrid Open 2023 dates will be from 24 April to 7 May, with the ATP Masters 1000 and the WTA Premier Mandatory taking place at the same time.

What’s new at the Mutua Madrid Open 2023?

Starting this year, the ATP main draw of the Open will be expanded to 96 players (previously 56 players) in a total of 22 sessions featuring the best players in the world. In addition, the WTA women’s draw will be expanded to 96 players.

Although there is still no official confirmation, the tournament is expected to include some of the best Spanish players, such as Rada Nadal, Carlos Alcaraz, Pablo Carreño and Roberto Bautista, as well as some of the top international players like Novak Djokovic, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Casper Ruud and Daniil Medvedev.

Where is the Madrid Open held?

The Madrid Open has been held since 2009 in the Caja Mágica in Madrid, a venue designed by French architect Dominique Perrault.

The Caja Mágica has three large stadiums and is equipped to host large tournaments and competitions, both outdoors and indoors. Now the official home of the Mutua Madrid Open, this is one of the most modern tennis facilities in the world, with a capacity of 12,500 on its main court, the Manolo Santana Centre Court.

How to get to the Mutua Madrid Open?

You can get to the Caja Mágica for the Madrid Open easily by public transport in the following ways:

  • Metro Line 3, San Fermín-Orcasur stop.
  • Bus lines 23, 78, 123, 180 and T32
  • Special line 180 to the Caja Mágica

The venue also has public parking spaces for private vehicle access, subject to a special rate during the tournament.
