Discover Fin DAC’s street art in Gran Vía Capital

Published on April 5, 2017 by Madrid SmartRentals

In Gran Vía Capital we would like to give our guests a truly different experience inviting them to discover Madrid from another perspective. An alternative Madrid, away from the usual and typical tourist circuit.

We’re convinced that art and creativity are an important connection to the cultural identity of our city. For this reason, we’re preparing a powerful cultural and artistic agenda with recognised local and international artists that will exhibit their creations in our building. With this action, we would like you to encourage you to enjoy a different type of tourism. A tourism of experiences and sensations.

Even though Madrid has a wide variety of museums and galleries, just by going out to the street you can discover true works of art in walls and building façades. The street art invades every neighbourhood in the city, turning the Spanish capital into a great open air art gallery, with free entry.

To start off with this new adventure, we’ve chosen Fin Dac as the first artist and as an amazing representative of the urban art or street art discipline.

Fin DAC and his street art, atypical and daring

Fin Dac, born in the Irish city of Cork, but resident in London, is an artist that searches to innovate and differentiate from the conventional visual aesthetics that you can find on the street, using untypical techniques such as the stencil.

findacHis portraits are characterised by real women of different cultures, represented with traditional costumes and bright colours. His art attracts by the way he paints them, like anonymous superheroes: with tattoos, jewels, masks, ethnic clothing and impossible hairstyles. Emphasizing on the feminine beauty and strength, moving away from stereotypes.

Its unique urban aesthetic style, a mixture between tradition and modernity, is influenced by the works of rebel artists such as Francis Bacon or Salvador Dalí, as well as the classic illustrator Aubrey Beardsley.

If you would like to discover more about him or his creations, you can visit his webpage.

From now on, a great number of surprises wait for you in Gran Vía Capital, and we will be uncovering them in the following posts of our blog and social networks.
