A festival for Japanese culture enthusiasts
The manga, comic and Japanese culture aficionados that are in Madrid from the 6th to the 8th of May are in luck. IFEMA hosts that weekend (Pavilion nº 12) the 15th edition of the Expomanga Festival, an unavoidable date for the followers of Japanese idiosyncrasy and culture in general.
In this year’s edition, you will enjoy the presence of guests like the singer Satsuki, the illustrators Vito Sicilia and Masasumi Kakizaki, writers like Henar Torinos and Elena Sempere and, of course, the most celebrated and spectacular cosplayers.
The Expomanga Festival of Madrid is organised by the Spanish Association of the Comic Friends, and in it will take place various activities, just as: drawing workshops, manga literature, traditional Japanese writing, cinematic manga exhibits, contests, games… In this event the Expomanga awards will also be given that search to recognise the talent of those works that have set the steps for the following year.
This celebration of the ‘ninth art’ and Japanese culture started in 2002 with the every-day growing legion of manga fans that was being created in Spain. Fifteen years later, this event has been placed as one of the greatest models in this continent.

You can visit this 15th edition from 11am to 8pm on Friday, from 10am to 9pm on Saturday, and from 10am to 8pm on Sunday.
