Plans to enjoy New Year’s Eve in Madrid
The New Year’s Eve in Madrid is coming very soon. A day where we think about everything that’s happened throughout the year and we prepare for the things that will happen next while having one of the most awaited parties and celebrations.
If you’re going to be in Madrid on that day, from Gran Vía Capital we would like to propose a series of plans to enjoy the last night of 2016 in the best way possible.
Plans to enjoy New Year’s Eve in Madrid
This New Year’s Eve, Madrid is dressed with its best clothes. We would like to show you some of the most important traditions of this city at this time of the year.
The grapes, in Sol
The most important tradition of this celebration in Madrid is the one of going to Puerta del Sol to eat 12 grapes before going out to celebrate the New Year. The famous clock in the main building of the Autonomous Community of Madrid serves every year as a reference to eat the grapes and in 2016 it reaches 150 years old.
Dancing in Nochevieja
Madrid has a great deal of pubs, and nightclubs where you can celebrate one of the most special nights of the year. We recommend the Joy Eslava party, one of the most emblematic nightclubs in Madrid, as well as the one in Teatro Barceló (used to be Pachá Madrid).
However, you surely will find the best pub or nightclub that fits with your style and budget.
Starting the year with some sport
If you want to say goodbye to 2016 doing some sport, one of the best and most traditional ways to do it is taking part in the San Silvestre race. The most typical is the San Silvestre Vallecana, that first started in 1964. 10km where celebration, tradition and sport come together.
The Rayo Vallecano stadium is the official finish line of this race. The popular edition starts at 17:30 of the 31st of December, and the International one, at 20:00.
