How to arrange the best Picnic in your Gran Via Capital terrace.
Spring’s arrival and the good weather is now official. With these temperatures we would like to go out to enjoy Madrid’s terraces, but… why not take the party to your own terrace organising a picnic with an amazing view?
Lets first go through the list of things we need to prepare our special and perfect picnic.
- Table cloth, colourful pillows, and other accessories.
- Picnic carrier bag with dishes, glasses, cutlery and napkins.
- Informal menu
- Family, friends or your loved one to share the moment.
And what should we prepare to eat?
One of the things we like the best about picnics is the simplicity of the food itself. We don’t have to make a huge effort creating complicated dishes. Simple sandwiches, some cheese and a bit of fruit are more than enough for our well set table.
Below, you can find some ideas of simple elaborations that you can prepare in a few minutes in your apartment’s kitchen:
- Pasta salad, peper salad, potato salad…
- Tuna or ham and cheese turnover…
- Quiche Lorraine,
- Hummus or paté
- Cheese with marmalade and nuts
- Potato tortilla every picnic’s star
Or choose take away
These are some of the best places to order take away in the centre of Madrid, right next to our apartments, where you will be able to get all he ingredients for a perfect picnic.
- El Porrón Canalla: (Calle Ballesta, 2) Al rico Bocata!
With traditional bread, mollete or chapati, the sandwiches in this place are amazing. The menu is quite classical but has some very sweet surprises.
- Magasand: (Travesía de San Mateo, 16). A very light and healthy option:
The summer is getting close and it’s asking for healthy and natural food. In Magasand they have some amazingly light and good sanwiches, as well as fruits and protein shakes.
- MOX: (Calle Corrdera Baja de San Pablo) juices and detox shakes.
For only 3,50 you can choose your half- a- litre juice with over 3 100% natural fruits. They also have shakes and a wide variety of detox drinks for all your needs: improve the immune system, lower the cholesterol, hydrate the skin, prevent diabetes…
- Happy Day Bakery: (Calle del Espíritu Santo, 11) Leave some space for the dessert.
Cakes, muffins, cupcakes, cookies… This is paradise! And every great picnic deserves a sweet ending.
