A solidary goal

Published on February 22, 2016 by Madrid SmartRentals

If I’m free it’s because I’m always running” -Jimi Hendrix-

Some time ago we showed you the best places to go out for a run in Madrid. There is a wide variety of places for the runners to exercise in the city.

Today we’re going to tell you about two important sporting events. One of them combines sport and solidarity. The best way to mix your love for sports and helping a good cause if you’re going to be in Madrid this weekend. Both events take place on Sunday the 28th of February. If you’re up for it, put on your running shoes, your shorts and start warming up.

Run for a good cause.

The Fundación Entreculturas organises this Sunday the 28TH of February the 5th edition of the solidary race “Corre por una causa” (I.e. Run for a cause) This year’s race takes place in Casa de Campo and aims to raise money for education in Chad for more than 1,500 boys and girls, to improve the funds and materials of 26 schools and to standardize the academic training for teachers.

The starting age to participate in this race is 6 years old. The competition has also all kinds of activities for children, and musical, cultural and African gastronomic exhibitions. The event has the possibility of running 350, 500 and 1000 metres, or 5 and 10 kilometres.

A perfect way to go out for a run in Madrid, enjoy a very special day and, more so, to contribute to a good cause.

Half marathon in La Latina

The ‘Agrupación Deportiva Corebo’ together with the councillorship of the La Latina District plan the 11th edition of the ‘Media Maratón de Latina’. This race’s itinerary goes through some of the most emblematic points of the district, like Casa de Campo. The starting line is in Aluche (Calle Guareña) and the end line in the sports complex.

One of the options is a more supportive race and the other has a more touristic intention, but both are great ways to do a bit of sport while getting to know the city. Within the facilities of Gran Vía Capital you will also find a fully equipped gym, and a swimming pool and solarium in the rooftop of our 13th floor, so you can relax after working out. You only have to ask for more information.
