The great Chueca World Pride 2017 celebration

The most important event for LGBT community, the World Pride Madrid 2017 is very close. With the motto of “Whoever you love, Madrid loves you”, this celebration promises to give people plenty to talk about.

A great festival where everybody is welcomed and that also coincides with the 40th anniversary of the first LGBT pride manifestation in Spain. The wait is with enthusiasm.

What awaits for you in the 2017 World Pride 

For this very important event we will count with and extensive programme of cultural and leisure activities. The celebration will start with the opening ceremony the 23rd of June in Matadero Madrid, and will end the 2nd of July with the Closing Ceremony in Puerta de Alcalá. During the celebrations, a wide variety of activities for locals and tourists:  The Diversity Race, the International Conference on Human Rights “Madrid Summit”, concerts, exhibits, Mr. Gay Pride competitions… And of course, the central event, the Pride Parade. A large manifestation that will go through the main streets in the capital defending the equality of rights. The parade will end with a great party and an open-air concert that you can’t miss.

The neighbourhood of Chueca will be the celebration’s epicentre, but not the only one. There will also be a great ambience in Puerta del Sol, Puerta de Alcalá, Plaza de Colón and Plaza de España.

In addition to all this, in Madrid Río (Puente del Rey), the Pride Village will open. A space for all ages where entertainment, fun and diversity come together. It will count with several sections: Community Expo (LGBT stands from all over the world) Escenario Culturas (with various cultural activities like theatre, music, workshops and seminaries), Commercial Area and street market (with food trucks to have something to eat, a book fair and some stands for craftwork) and Chueca Kids & Family Pride (with a wide variety of activities for families)

In 2019 New York will be the host of this amazing party. This year, we will see each other in Madrid!
