Where to buy wine in Madrid

In addition to being able to do it first hand in one of Madrid’s 44 cellars with the Vinos de Madrid certificate of origin, in the city you will find several shops and specialised establishments. True temples for wine lovers.

  • La Tintorería: located in the Gurtubay street, this wine shop in Madrid has a truly amazing collection. References of over a million and a half wines of all over the world.
  • Mariano Madrueño: If you want to buy good wine in a classic and authentic place, Mariano Madrueño is the place to go. This wine and liquor store first opened in 1895 in the Portigo de San Martín street, and has another establishment in the Postigo de San Martín street.
  • Lavinia: Many people say it’s the biggest wine store in Spain. We’re not going to question this statement. This gigantic store is located in Ortega y Gasset 16. Over 5,000 labels are waiting for you.
  • Bodega Juan Cuesta: Another classic, opened in 1936 in Avenida Menéndez Pelayo 105. In addition to buying nice wine, you can go to one of their many events such as wine tastings and presentations.
  • Santa Cecilia: In Blasco de Garay 74 and Bravo Murillo 50. This cellar has been opened for over 100 years. In it you can’t only find select wines but also all kinds of books and utensils for wine lovers.
