Although in this part, we might have to speak about the most curious places in Madrid, either than the most curious museums.
The Enchanted Forest
It’s not technically situated in the city of Madrid, but in the Autonomous Community. It’s not a museum either, but it’s well worth a visit. You can find el Bosque Encantado (the Enchanted Forest) in San Martin de Valdeiglesias. This botanical garden holds a great collection of hundreds of sculptures built with trees, plants and bushes.
It’s a great plan to enjoy these original pieces of botanical art and spend a day outdoors with your family.
La Catedral de Justo
Mejorada del Campo is a town in the Autonomous Community of Madrid where you will find the Catedral del Justo. It resembles to a christian cathedral but with the main difference being that it was built by a single person: Justo Gallego. With recycled construction materials this man has already built a great part of this cathedral that he first started in 1961. It’s height is of more than 35 metres and has crypts, dome, cloister, arches…
Discovery Channel or New York’s Modern Art Museum (who dedicated a photo exhibit to the cathedral and Justo Gallego) have taken interest on this project.
