The best Chinese food in the city
If we had to choose the most misunderstood, unrecognized and vilified cuisine, Chinese food would probably be on the very top of the list.
This is quite sad and unjust as Chinese cuisine is amazingly varied, rich and balanced (as well as healthy). Unfortunately, a great deal of people wrongly associates it with delivery fast food, where quality is not a common factor.
A gastronomic event in Madrid searches to eliminate those taboos and bring Chinese gastronomy closer to the public.
The best Chinese food in Madrid
Madrid’s City Council and the Chinese Embassy in Spain have organised the second edition of China Taste, a gastronomic event for the Chinese New Year. Over 20 restaurants in Madrid take part in this event that wants to bring the public closer to the rich and varied Chinese food, far from the topics and preconceived ideas. Just until the 12th of February you can enjoy special menus at affordable prices (from 20€) in any of these restaurants.
In addition to this, for every menu, one euro will be destined to Plena Inclusión Madrid, a federation of associations that help people with intellectual incapacities or development problems.
Dishes like Pekinese lacquered duck, vegetable noodles, jiaozis or traditional guotie, with other more ‘popular’ suggestions will be the true main characters of this event.
Amongst the restaurants in Madrid that will take part in China Taste you can find: Asia Gallery, Asia té, Baiwei, Café Saigón, Casa Lafu, El Bund, La Dehesa, Kzen, Food Love, Lounge Yi Mo, PatoLaqueado de Pekín, Royal Cantonés, Royal Mandarín, Sorgo Rojo, Tse Yang or Zen Market.
Additionally, renowned Chinese chefs will come to the capital to offer some of their knowleadge and tell you about some of the most important secrets of Chinese gastronomy. A great way to end the prejudices and actually discover an amazing culinary tradition that has much more to offer than what we’re used to.
