The Prado, Reina Sofia, Thyssen… Madrid is, together with Berlin and Paris one of the cities with the most museums of the old continent. Precisely, in the Thyssen Museum you can enjoy not only their amazing pictorial collection, but also the astonishing viewpoint (only open in summer for dinner) and the terraces, an ideal setting to have a drink after an artful day.

In the Reina Sofía museum you can also enjoy a pleasant terrace to have a drink and some tapas after soaking up some modern art. In this space you can also find a great deal of music sessions and events.

We’ve already told you about the terrace in the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Madrid. This space, not being a museum per se counts with an amazing and spacious terrace in their rooftop and one at street level. A perfect excuse to get the most out of one of Madrid’s top cultural and artistic points and to rest a bit while enjoying some of the best views of the capital.

Matadero Madrid is another of the cities’ cultural spaces par excellence. Even though it’s not technically  a museum , we’re in front of a focal point of cultural creation in every aspect (painting, sculpture, scenic arts, design…) The terrace of the Café del Teatro and El Patio de la Cantina are two open-air spaces in this cultural centre that you can fully enjoy.

La Casa Encendida and La Casa de América are other of the two museums and cultural centers where you can combine art with Madrid’s wonderful tradition of the Summer terraces.
