Race for Women 2016 in Madrid
Madrid is an ideal city to be enjoyed by walking. Nevertheless, there’s also a vast number of places to go out for a run in Madrid and stay fit. In the same way, the city hosts various open competitions for running aficionados, professionals, semi-professionals or even newbies.
Precisely, on Sunday the 8th of May in Madrid takes place an event that combines both sport and a very good cause. We’re referring to the 2016 edition of the Race for Women, whose goal is to raise money for the investigation and fight against breast cancer. Over 30,000 runners came together last year to run this popular race in Madrid.
It starts at 9am, and as you can see in their official website, the maximum time to end the 7,2km itinerary is 1hour and 45 minutes. The start line will be in Paseo de Moret and the finish line in Paseo de Camoens. You can sign in online until the 4th of May, or until the numbers run out.
In addition to the online registration, you will be able to register in the race in one of the physical points that will hand out 8,000 numbers in the Oysho shops in madrid.

The Race for Women will go over the following streets: Princesa, Plaza de España, Gran Vía, Alcalá, puerta del Sol, Calle Mayor, Bailén, Palacio Real, Paseo del pintor Rosales, Ferraz y Marqués de Urquijo. The price for registration is 10 euros and girls over 12 years old can take part in it.
The organisation will count with ambulances as well as a medical team in different points of the race to attend to anything that could happen. After the race ends, an aerobic festival will be held for those who still have strengths.
