Pixar. 25 years of animation

The liveliest MOMA Exhibition says goodbye to Madrid.

All movie PIXAR animation lovers  have enjoyed since March 21st, one of the most recognized worldwide Exhibitions ” ‘ Pixar. 25 years of animation ‘ .. This little gem leaves the Caixa Forum Madrid , located along the Paseo del Prado , June 22nd. After learning that Pixar took a year for the premiere of ‘ Dinosapiens ‘. The well known new film production company. In Spain we have made ​​it easier to overcome the usual annual appointment with the best animated film that did not take place in 2014.

In this exhibition we can know the art that served as the foundation stone for the first twelve studio films . Mike , Sulley and many more characters are names well known to show us a path that was born in 2005 MOMA in New York and  9 years later, landed in Madrid.
In this exhibition we can see how artists from the flexo studio, create worlds, characters and stories of each film. Everyone does it with a different technique which is always the best  feature for all long lasting films. Drawings, sculptures and design meets the halls of the collection, which covers 402 pieces that teach us that we would not have films without the artists.

After passing through cities such as Paris or Amsterdam , the exhibition comes to Madrid we can see it  organized by films . Each film is a series of features, realistic sculptures with the designs of many of the characters in the stories. Each film presents various works of studio artists . from drawings to examples of storyboards , paintings of scenes or curious images that never came out on the cinema screen .
But undoubtedly the crown jewel of the exhibition are the Colorscripts . These Colorscripts  are paintings that cover the history of each film, and are created to give the director and his team a general idea of ​​what they want in the film. If the Colorscript works well, they continue working on it to create the film, that is the reason why the colorscripts are the Heart of every project.

The collection is completed with three other “jewels” that will delight the most curious of minds. One of them is a room in which the films of John Lasseter, projecting prior to ‘Toy Story’ , in which Pixar performed their  first experiments by computer. The second is the giant Zoetrope ‘Toy Story’ , a wonder to see Woody, Buzz Lightyear and his friends come to life before our eyes and the last is an audiovisual space ” Artscape ” a room in which we travel literally to Inside many of the works seen in the exhibition.

‘ Pixar. 25 years of animation ‘ says goodbye to the CaixaForum in Madrid on June 22nd .The entrance fee is 4 euros , 2 euros for customers of La Caixa , and free under 16 years. After more than 3 million viewers worldwide , t is our turn for both locals and visitors , but later will move to Barcelona  and Zaragoza .
