Lavender festival in Brihuega, the Spanish Provence

In little over one hour from Madrid, in the small town of Brihuega (Guadalajara), every month of July takes place a truly amazing event for our senses: the blooming of the lavender  fields. The region’s lands are died purple and in honour to the new harvest the Lavender Festival takes place.

With over 1,000 hectares of plantations that represent approximately the 10% of the total world production, Brihuega has turned into one of the biggest international producers of lavender.

This Saturday the 15th of July you’ll be able to see a unique sunset in the lavender fields of Brihuega accompanied by the enigmatic voice of Diego El Cigala. Dress in white and be seduced by the heady scent of the lavender in an unrivalled setting. It’s a truly astonishing event.

There 3 types of tickets:

• General: 49€. It includes seats in the General area and access to the parking.
• VIP: 87€. It includes preference seats in the VIP area, picnic buffet dinner and access to the parking.
• Elite: 250€. It includes access to the parking, preference seats in the Elite area, welcome drink and gastronomic dinner.

How to arrive by car to the Festival

E-90/A-2 – Salida 73 – Torija. Continue through the CM 2011 to Brihuega.

1 km after the Brihuega exit, turn left through GU-925, in direction to Olmeda del Extremo, until pk 7,7

It’s highly recommended to go in advance to avoid traffic jams on the roads and parking areas.

In addition to this, during the whole month of July, the Brihuega City Council celebrates many other activities to celebrate the blooming of the lavender: painting exhibits, hot-air balloon outings, paragliding activities, guided visits through the fields, cooking master classes, photo rallies and many other things.
