International Jazz Festival of Madrid
Madrid is a city that has some jazz tradition, as we showed you in our brother blog of Gran Vía Capital. One of the most important events of this type of music is taking place very soon. We’re of course referring to the International Jazz Festival of Madrid, JAZZMADRID 2016.
More stars than in the sky
Metro Goldwyn Meyer’s old motto is perfect to describe this event for jazz enthusiasts in Madrid, Spain and Europe. Between the 25th of October and the 30th of November, several scenic spaces in Madrid (specially the Centro Cultural Conde Duque, and the Fernán Gómez Theatre) will hold hours of live jazz concerts, events and related acts.
Over one hundred performances in these five weeks when Madrid will turn into the Spanish and European jazz capital. In this edition of JAZZMADRID 2016 you will be able to enjoy the music of artists such as Madeleine Peyroux, Dave Holland, Gregory Porter, John Scofield or the group of the legendary bass player Stanley Clarke.
Emerging Spanish jazz artists will also have a space in this eclectic festival. From Kontxi Llorente to XimoTébar, Niño Josele or Javier Colina
Blues being kind of like a brother to jazz, will also have a part in this event.
Not only music
One of the best things that the International Jazz Festival of Madrid has, in addition to its line-up, is that there are a wide variety of parallel activities organised that go beyond music: debates, cinema, art exhibits…
In the Festival’s webpage you have more information regarding the locations, activities, times and tickets. A leisure proposition that combines music, classicism, change and fusion. We’re in front of one of the most important musical events of this Autumn.
