Escape rooms are mental and physical adventure games where several players are locked up in a room decorated according to the theme and challenge. In a set time (usually one hour) the players have to solve the different tests and puzzles to escape the room, complete the mission and win the game.
The first examples of escape rooms appeared in Japan a decade ago. Since then, its popularity has increased throughout the world. It’s said that in Europe there’s over 3,000. - ParaPark Madrid: (Manzana, 15): In different places throughour Spain, ParaPark is considered as the first escape room per se in Madrid. A group of 2-5 people gets locked up in an abandoned room. From there, a countdown of 60 minutes starts where you will have to solve secret codes, find clues and pass numerous tests to find your way out. Working with your group is key to success.
- Escape College: In the 5th of San Bernardo street, right in the centre of the city. It has 6 different rooms (The Vatican, The White Room…) with changing themes and settings.
- Fox in a box: Groups of 2-6 people have to find their way out a Cold War Bunker or The Zombie Laboratory to save humanity. In Calle Infantas, 25.
- Exit Game Madrid: They define themselves as the most complicated escape room in Madrid. They have mysteries both in English and Spanish, escape rooms for children, and different settings (Death Penalty 1962, The Laboratory, Double Agent-Cold War and the Art Merchant) In Calle Caracas, 15.
- The X Door: Escape game right in Gran Vía. For groups of 2-6, this is highly recommended for people that love mystery and intrigue.
