Madrid always liked the theatre historically. In this regard there are many options to enjoy the stage arts, from the more traditional to the more alternative ones .Today we are showing you some of the greatest theatres and venues in Madrid.

According to estimates , there are more than a hundred different theatre venues with endless productions between big and small theatres in the city. These are probably the most popular theatres in Madrid :

– Teatro Real:

– Gran Vía: In Madrid’s Gran Vía there are many theatres , it’s called by some the Spanish Broadway. This theatres host the most important musical productions. Some of these theatres in the heart of Madrid main street are Teatro de la Luz Philips, the teatro Infanta Isabel, the Teatro Galileo, Rialto and Teatro Príncipe.

– Teatros del Canal: located in Chamberí neighbourhood this venue holds music festivals, theatre plays, expositions , and all kind of artistic events throughout the year.

– Teatro Fernán Gómez: Placed in Colón is named after one of the most important authors , writer and actors in Spanish history . In this theatre contests, exhibitions and cultural events are programmed .

Alternative theatre in Madrid

The theatre in Madrid also has a great deal of spaces involved in underground art .There are plenty of venues in Madrid that offer risky outside of commercial standards proposals. If we previously refer toGran Vía as Madrid’s Broadway , the ones we are talking about knows could be called off Broadway. We can mentioned amongst them Matadero Madrid or Madrid slaughterhouse (more than a theatre is a multi use cultural space dedicated to alternative culture view), Montacargas, Arte & Desmayo or the Sala Cuarta Pared.
