Enjoy the best flamenco in Madrid

Not many music genres are so linked to the culture of a country like flamenco is with Spain. If you’re a connoisseur of this type of music, an aficionado or a newbie with desire to go in depth into the ‘duende’, you should write an event down in your agenda for your time in Madrid.

Flamenco Madrid 2016

Until the 3rd of July, in the Cultural Centre Fernán Gómez, you will be able to enjoy some of the best flamenco activities. Dance, singing, workshops, exhibits and showings are some of the activities that have been programmed for Flamenco Madrid 2016.

It’s the second edition of an event that searches to settle sown as a referent of flamenco’s music and art in Spain. Antonio Canales, Carmen Cortés, La Lupi… consecrated names and emerging artists come together in a highly recommendable occurrence. Various conferences, talks regarding the flamenco culture have been set, and in addition to this, children can enjoy shows specially made for them.

Places of interest to enjoy Flamenco in Madrid

There’s a wide variety of tablaos and establishments where you can enjoy the vocal and dance performances in Madrid. In this post you will find our personal list of the ones you can’t miss.

Torres Bermejas

This venue is located in calle Mesonero Romanos, 11. With close to sixty years of activity, we’re facing one of the most legendary establishments of live flamenco in Madrid. It’s so historically important that it’s where Paco de Lucía and Camarón de la isla (the most important guitarist and flamenco singer respectively) first met.

Corral de la Morería

Another place with over six decades of activity, this tablao is located in the 17th of the Morería street. In it you can listen to, see and feel some of the best flamenco live performances of Madrid.

Café de Chinitas

Situated in calle Torija 7, you will find it in the ground floor of a 17th Century palace. Some of the most important flamenco figures in Spain have performed here.
