Natural spaces in Madrid

If you would like to enjoy a day out in nature in Madrid, to recharge one’s batteries and escape from the city routine, these are just some of the options we would like to propose in Madrid Smart Rentals.

  • Sierra de Guadarrama: The Sierra de Guadarrama National Park is one of the ideal places to enjoy a day out in the open in Madrid. Beautiful pine forests, scrublands where hares, moles and several types of amphibians and birds come together creating a rich and captivating ecosystem.
  • Laguna de San Juan Fauna Shelter: This shelter is probably the most important wetland in the south of Madrid. In its 47 hectares you can find a wide variety of aquatic birds, making it one of the best places in Madrid for bird watching.
  • Abantos pine forest and the Herrería area: This is a protected natural space located between Santa María de la Alameda and San Lorenzo del Escorial. It counts with a centre for environmental awareness and education and beautiful forest examples. An ideal visit for the whole family.
  • Regajal- Mar de Ontígola reservation: This natural space is protected since 1994. The wetland serves as a refuge for different species that, combined with the vegetative importance, makes it an idyllic environment.
