For those who fully appreciate the Christmas spirit, carols and the typical music of these days are a great way to enjoy this time of the year. Today we would like to propose a series of very different ideas to take pleasure in the typical Christmas music in Madrid, in different styles and philosophies.

The Choral Association of the Spanish National Library (that celebrates its first five-year period next year) offers on the 22nd of December, in the National Music Auditorium, its Christmas concert. The Association, directed by Román Clemente and formed by over one hundred voices, will perform several songs from different genres and eras, but with Christmas as a common factor.

Pieces like the AdesteFideles, O Holy Night, White Christmas in New Orleans or All I Want for Christmas is you will surely make the whole family have a charming and nice night.

In addition to this, another idea to fully enjoy the most traditional Christmas music is happening on the 21st of December. in the San Francisco el Grande Basilica takes place the Great Christmas concert of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, where 4 choirs (including the Community’s one) will intervene. You can access this recital completely for free.

What would Christmas be without the famous carols? We ask ourselves the exact same question. Our second Christmas musical suggestion is for you to go to the Royal Mail House of Madrid (Real Casa de Correos de Madrid). After enjoying the beautiful Neapolitan nativity scene, you can find inside, you can go to Plaza de Pontejos just next to it. Over there, 50 choirs of different ages will perform carols up until the 23rd of December.

You can enjoy it on the mornings from 11am to 1pm and from 5:45pm to 8pm.
