Best book shops in Madrid
In Autumn and Winter, when the cold and rain define the type of day we have, there’s nothing better than to get lost in the pages of a book, to go deep into the stories that they tell us and let our imagination fly.
Today, we’re going to tell you where to find the best libraries in Madrid.
Best book shops in Madrid
In Spain there’s about 3,700 book shops. You can find approximately a 17% of those in Madrid. Today we would like to tell you which are, in our opinion, the best:
- Tipos Infames (C/San Joaquín, 3): Tipos Infames will let you discover the latest literary news while enjoying a nice glass of wine.
- Tres Rosas Amarillas (C/Espíritu Santo, 12): Located in the Malasaña neighbourhood. It counts with an extensive catalogue of tales.
- Librería Alberti (C/Tutor, 57): This library is situated in the Argüelles neighbourhood and has turned into one of Madrid’s book shop references since 1975.
- La Fugitiva (C/Santa Isabel, 7): In this library/café you can find some of the latest books and comics in the market, and also titles that are a bit more difficult to find. You can also enjoy some of the events they organise.
- Librería Antonio Machado (C/Fernando VI, 17): This store has over four decades of history. The personalised service and customer service is what distinguishes it.
- Pantha Rhei (Hernán Cortes, 7): This establishment, located in the Chueca neighbourhood specialises in design, photography, fashion, visual arts and painting and illustration. A contemporary classic in Madrid’s book stores.
- Ocho y Medio (C/Martín de los Heros): If you’re a cinema enthusiast, Ocho y Medio is definitely the place to go. They have a large selection of cinema-related books.
