Arco Fair

Arco, the International Contemporary Art Fair that takes place in Madrid, is a referent in the Art sector, and a must for professionals. In its previous edition, Arco 2019 managed to bring 35,887 people together. An 8% more than on 2018.

A significant increase of the number of visitors that reflects the well-being of the Fair, that this year celebrates its 39th edition.
If you’re thinking of going to the Fair this year, here are some tips so you don’t miss out on anything.

Opening hours and tickets for Arco Madrid 2020

The Art Fair will have a duration of 5 days, although with different opening hours:

Dates: From February 26th to 1st of March

Opening hours for professionals:
– Starts: February 26th at 12PM
– Finishes: February 27th at 8PM

Opening hours for the public
– Starts: February 28th at 12PM
– Finishes: 1st of March at 8PM

The tickets for Arco can be bought through Ifema’s website and for visitors the price is somewhere between 20€ and 40€. There’s several options, so we recommend you visit the website to choose the one that better suits you. Until the 1st of February you can buy them for half the price (20€), so if you’re interested in going to the Fair, we suggest you take this offer into consideration.

This edition has a new feature for visitors: guided visits during the weekend with art professionals so you can properly enjoy the art pieces you’ll be seeing. There will be 4 visits per day, with a maximum of 15 people per group. If you would like to take part in one of them, go ahead and reserve your group, as there’s limited spots.

Accommodation in Madrid during the Art Fair

Coming to visit the International Contemporary Art Fair is the perfect excuse to discover a bit more of the city of Madrid.

How to arrive to Arco Art Fair

If you’re staying in the centre of the city, arriving to Ifema is very easy, you can go by public transport, taxi or your own car.
By public transport, you can take the metro and you’ll get to Ifema in around 40 minutes. You will have to change lines, but it’s very easy and comfortable.
If you prefer to arrive by car, from Gran Vía you will get to Ifema in about 30 minutes, depending on traffic.

You can park inside the facility in their private parking. When you make your way back, parking in the centre might be a bit tricky, but if you’re staying in our Gran Vía apartments, you won’t have any problems, as we have an automated parking with over 300 spots

Activities in Arco Madrid 2020

The Art Fair presents a wide variety of national and international galleries, 210 galleries from 30 countries, both in the general programme and in the Dialogue section.

In addition to this, you can find other spaces such as ArtsLibris and Cultural spaces, to add on the experience of the contemporary art.
This year, the Fair’s main theme is: It’s just a Matter of Time, studying various practices of the works of Félix González-Torres.

This year, as a part of Arco’s intention to give voice for new artists, the 35% of the galleries have individual projects or in dialogue, promoting the discovery of new art professionals.
