Plans to enjoy Madrid with children (II)
If ‘The Godfather’ or ‘Superman’ had sequels that could compare or even surpass the original film, the second part of our post about plans to enjoy Madrid with children is no less. Well, we might have gone too far comparing our guide of plans for children in Madrid with those movie gems, but we’re sure this ‘sequel’ will give you some great ideas for you to know how to spend your time if you plan to visit Madrid with kids.
Plans to enjoy Madrid with children II
Museums of interestIn our previous post we talked to you about the Wax Museum or the historical house museum of El Ratoncito Pérez. However, in Madrid you can find many other museums and exhibits with adapted contents for the smaller ones of the house.
For football enthusiasts
For the youngest and sportier ones, those who enjoy football, there are three museums in Madrid that are a must. Real Madrid organises a complete tour through the Bernabeu Stadium, where you have the possibility of getting to know this legendary stadium, from the trophy room to the team’s changing rooms, going through the benches and the football pitch.
The second museum we’re speaking about is the one you can find in the Atlético de Madrid stadium. You can visit the emblematic Vicente Calderón, relive its history, admire their trophies and memorabilia…
Last but not least, you can visit the ‘La Roja’ museum. Dedicated to the Spanish National football team, it’s located in the ‘Ciudad del Fútbol de lasRozas’, and is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 9am to 7pm.
In addition to their awards, you can discover different football equipment; boots and mementos of players from past, present and always.
For older ones
Maybe older children want to visit museums which content is adapted to their age. In this case, we suggest three galleries that combine entertainment, culture and adapted contents for youngsters. These are the National Archaeological museum (calle Serrano, 13), the National Science and Natural History museum in Paseo de la Castellana(calle José Gutiérrez Abascal, 2) and the Railwaymuseum (Paseo de lasDelicias, 61).
In all of them you will come across different historical materials, as well as workshops, and didactic spaces for children.
Adrenaline and amusement
A few kilometres from the centre you will encounter several attraction parks and activity and leisure centres where you can spend a wonderful day with kids in Madrid. We vividly recommend:
- Parque Warner: Bugs Bunny, live shows of DC’s heroes and characters, other performances, roller-coasters… We’re sure children will find this attraction park in Madrid very stimulating. It’s located in the kilometre 15,5 of the M-301 road, very close to the city.
- Faunia: close to 15,000 square metres, this botanical garden and zoo will delight nature-lovers. You can find it in the number 28 of the Avenida de las Comunidades.
