Plans to enjoy Madrid with Children (I)

Published on April 4, 2016 by Madrid SmartRentals

Madrid is a city that everyone can enjoy, both adults and children. The little ones have a wide variety of options to choose from. If you’re visiting Madrid, and you want to save some of your day for your children’s leisure, today we’re going to show you the first part of our select plans to enjoy Madrid with children.

Playgrounds

You will discover an extensive selection of play areas for children in Madrid. In the emblematic Retiro Park, you will find over 11 areas prepared for them so they can play. Madrid Río, in the heart of the city, also offers approximately 20 zones for them to enjoy in a perfectly safe environment.

Casa de Campo is one of the most visited places in the city, and there you will come across with two of the best places for kids; Parque de Atracciones (amusement park) and Zoo Aquarium de Madrid.

Puppet shows in El Retiro

The puppet shows hosted in the Retiro Park are a real classic plan for adults and children in Madrid. The puppet theatre gives the opportunity every Saturday and Sunday to little boys and girls to be entertained with stories, tales and representations that make their imagination fly to fantasy worlds.

You can see here the location of the Puppet show theatre in the Retiro Park.

Historical House museum of El Ratoncito Pérez

Spanish tradition says that when a child looses a tooth, a noble and amusing little mouse named Pérez, leaves below the pillow a gift in exchange for that fallen tooth.

Madrid has a museum fully dedicated to the figure of this historical character. It’s located in the number 81 of the Arenal street, and in addition to games, documents and miniatures, you can for example see some Beethoven’s or Sir Isaac Newton’s milk teeth.

Wax museum

It might not be as famous as Madame Tussauds, but Madrid’s wax museum (Paseo de Recoletos, 41) is one of the best places to take your kids in Madrid.

Over 450 historical figures, sportsmen, musicians, novelists, cinema or TV are waiting for you to visit them.
