Our brother blog in Madrid Smart Rentals talks today about the must-see palaces in the city of Madrid. The visit to these palaces are mandatory, however, apart from El Escorial or El pardo, there are a series of less famous palaces that are also well worth a visit. Today we show you some of them.

Marquis de Fontalba Palace

The Marquis de Fontalba Palace is right in the center of Madrid, in Paseo de la Castellana 17. This is the headquarters to the DIstrict  Attorney’s office. With over 1,000 squared metres, this palace was built at the beginning of the 20th Century.

Fernán Núñez Palace

This palace is headquarters to the Spanish Railway Foundation. Located in the 44th of the Santa Isabel street. It dates back to 1753 and between the most important rooms we can stand out the Ball Room (inspired in the Versalles mirror room), the Gala dining room and the Isabeline room.

Godoy Palace

Godoy’s Palace, also known as the Grimaldi Marquis Palace is located in Plaza de la Marina Española 9. Francisco Sabatini, Charles III’s architect was in charge of the project, that ended in 1780.

Bauer Palace

Bauer’s Palace holds today the Superior School of Singing. It’s in Calle San Bernardo, 44. Built in the 18th Century, this palace was declared Historical and Artistic Monument in 1972. The barroque façade, and the decoration in the celings of its rooms are some of the most important things of this buiding.

Abrantes Palace

You can find this 17th Century building in the number 86 of Calle Mayor in Madrid. Nowadays, it serves as the Italian Institute of Culture in the city. This beautiful palace hosts numerous events, as well as activities for the Institute.
